1. grapes were one of my favorite childhood snacks. my mom would use them to try and wean me off reeses peanut butter cups, which didn't work, but i loved grapes anyways. i have a memory from around 4 years old, of finding a single grape on the corner of a shelf in my room. for reasons i cannot remember, i deviously decided not to throw it away or clean it up. once in a while i would come back to look at it and chuckle, but for the most part i forgot about it for a couple weeks. when i finally remembered my lonely grape, i returned to find an ugly shriveled RAISIN. since then i cannot look at raisins without the feeling of being profoundly deceived. i don't know if i was the only one in the world that didn't know grapes eventually turn into raisins, but i still can't look at raisins the same way.

(the picture has nothing to do with anything, but it was cute.. and i'm sure the puppy survived)
2. sounds of mastication. i don't know what it is, but it really creeps me out and puts me in a foul mood. if i accidentally think about it while eating, i get grossed out by my own sounds of chewing and feel ickier and ickier...

my pet peeve?.. when you think your thesis is progressing well and then someone revises it and tells you that everything i thought was right is in fact, wrong.
